Scholarships
The Latina Lawyers Bar Association announces a scholarship and bar stipend program for law students enrolled at a law school in California. The scholarship program will award scholarships and bar stipends to outstanding law students. The scholarship and bar stipend funds may be used towards expenses related to a student’s attendance at a California law school or towards the expenses related to preparation for the California Bar Examination. Preference will be given to Latina law students.
Application, Selection and Award Process
Students must complete the application in full, including all required attachments.
Scholarship and bar stipend awards will be presented at the annual Latina Lawyers Bar Association Installation and Awards Celebration. Attendance is required for in-person event. Please note that Latina Lawyers Bar Association Board Members and their family members are not eligible for this scholarship/bar stipend award.
Bar Stipends
The scholarship program will award bar stipends to outstanding law students. The bar stipend funds should be used towards the expenses related to preparation for the California Bar Examination. Preference will be given to Latina law students.
ELIGIBILITY:
- California resident/domiciled in California and current applicant for the California State Bar
- Demonstrated community service
- Demonstrated overall commitment to the Latina community
- Demonstrated desire and commitment to be a leader in the legal profession
- Financial need
A completed application form and all required attachments must be submitted through this FORM by April 5, 2022. Bar Stipend finalists will be contacted to set up interviews in mid-May. A committee, composed of Latina Lawyers Bar Association Board Members and Scholarship Committee Members, will select the award recipients. Bar stipends will be issued in June.
Bar stipend recipients will be presented at the Latina Lawyers Bar Association Annual Installation and Awards Dinner on October 14, 2022. Please note that Latina Lawyers Bar Association Board Members and their family members are not eligible for this bar stipend award.
