LATINA LAWYERS BAR ASSOCIATION 2009 SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA & GUIDELINES
The Latina Lawyers Bar Association announces a 2009 scholarship program for law students enrolled at a law school in California. The scholarship program will award scholarships to outstanding law students. The scholarship funds may be used towards expenses related to a student’s attendance at a California law school or towards the expenses related to preparation for the California Bar Examination. Preference will be given to Latina law students.
Eligibility Requirements
1. Currently enrolled at a California law school or a current applicant for the California State Bar 2. Demonstrated community service 3. Demonstrated overall commitment to the Latina community 4. Demonstrated potential to succeed 5. Need
Application, Selection and Award Process
Application materials will be provided upon request submitted to: llbalosangeles@aol.com. The application will then be e-mailed to students at the address indicated in such request. The application can also be accessed through our website.
Students must complete the application in full, including all required attachments. A completed application form and all required attachments must be postmarked by May 1, 2009.

Finalists will be contacted to set up interviews by June 1, 2009. A committee, composed of Latina Lawyers Bar Association Board Members, will select the award recipients. Scholarship applicants will be notified of the Committee’s determinations by July 15, 2009. Scholarship awards will be presented at the Latina Lawyers Bar Association Annual Installation and Awards Dinner August 2009. Attendance is required.
Please note that Latina Lawyers Bar Association Board Members and their family members are not eligible for this scholarship award.
